Privacy statement
1. Personal data
We respect your privacy. Therefore we don't collect any information that could identify you personally, except the data you supply during account creationd or event registration.
Connections to our servers are only allowed via an encrypted HTTPS connection.
We don't use tracking cookies, third party cookies or ads in any form. That means we don't need to annoy you with a cookie banner. A session cookie, that tells our server that you are logged in, is required though.
1a. Passwords
Your passwords are stored as salted hashes. That means that not even someone with access to the database can read them.
1b. Private personal data required by COVID-19 regulations
Due to competitions taking place under COVID-19 restrictions, it may be required to supply personal information to help organizer inform you in case of infections. You can either delete that information as you see fit or opt-in to let the data be automatically deleted after a two weeks.
2. Unpersonal, automatically collected data
If you take part in a competition, we store information about your participation but this is not something that could identify you.
We don't share this data with anyone but please be aware that some of your personal data is available to the public and that the people organizing a competition can access your personal information.
3. Your rights
If you are located in certain countries, including those that fall under the European General Data Protection Regulation (AKA the “GDPR”), data protection laws give you rights regarding your personal data, subject to any exemptions provided by the law, including the rights to:
- Request access to your personal data;
- Request correction or deletion of your personal data;
- Object to our use and processing of your personal data;
- Request that we limit our use and processing of your personal data; and
- Request portability of your personal data.
Usually, you can access, correct, or delete your personal data using your account settings and tools that we offer, but if you aren't able to do that, or you would like to contact us about one of the other rights, please send us an email.
4. Third-party services
Currently, we're using a tool from Google on two of our sub-pages to deflect bots. We are working on a solution that doesn't require any third-party service.
4a. Google reCAPTCHA
When the registration form is called, a captcha is loaded to defend against bots. Furthermore, the captcha is also used on the contact form if the calling user is not logged into their account. This captcha is Google reCAPTCHA.
If you want to prevent Google from collecting data about you by using the captcha, you can contact us by email and we will create an account for you so that you do not have to visit the registration page with the captcha.
